Today is an “A” Day

Callbacks for the spring musical, Guys and Dolls, are posted outside the choir and drama classrooms as well as online in the Google Classroom page. If your name is on the callback list for today, please show up in the Forum.

If you took the PSAT in October, we will be hosting a PSAT score interpretation session Wednesday, January 17 at 6pm in the Forum.  During this time, students will receive the paper copy of their test scores, and counselors will help parents and students understand how to interpret them.  Scores are currently available electronically through the College Board website. We hope to see you there!

The Forensics Team will have practice in the 11/12 grade office this Thursday, and Friday until 4:30.  All team members must check in with Ms. Mathieu prior to Saturday's competition.  

There will be an informational meeting for students and their parents interested in applying to attend Mountain Vista Governor's School next year on January 30th at 7pm. The meeting will take place at the Lord Fairfax Community College campus in Warrenton at The Barn. Current 9th grade students who will have completed Advanced Algebra II by the end of this school year are eligible for 10th grade enrollment.

If you are grades 9-11 and intend to apply to the Mountain Vista Governor’s School, please submit your completed application to Mrs. Stone in the 11/12 house office by March 1, 2018. Applications are available under the "links" tab on the "Student Services" page of the EVHS website to access the application.

Senator Mark Warner is inviting high school students and their parents to the 2018 Service Academy Day. Attendees will be provided a comprehensive overview of the United States service academies and their admission process. In addition, students will be able to meet with representatives from ROTC programs. This event will be held on Saturday, March 24 from 10-1 at the Paramount Theater in Charlottesville. Thinking about your options after high school graduation? Why not take the ASVAB test? The ASVAB is a career exploration test for 10th, 11th , and 12th grade students linking their skills and aptitudes to related occupations. While the ASVAB is a required test to enter the military, you do not have to be interested in the military in order to take advantage of this opportunity. The test is free and will be given on February 22nd at 8:00am in the Forum; please sign up on the EVHS Testing Website.
