EVTV Morning Announcements & Bulletin

 ​For Guys and Dolls rehearsal today, all cast members are called. Benny, Nicely, Sky, Sarah, Mission Band, Adelaide, Hot Box Girls, and Nathan are in the auditorium. All other cast members are in the choir room for a music rehearsal.

If you are grades 9-11 and intend to apply to the Mountain Vista Governor’s School, please submit your completed application to Mrs. Stone in the 11/12 house office by March 1, 2018. Applications are available under the "links" tab on the "Student Services" page of the EVHS website to access the application.

Attention Juniors interested in applying to the Nursing program:  There will be an informational meeting on Thursday, February 22 during return block in the Library.  Please sign up through Naviance Family Connection.

Attention Juniors and Seniors who are fluent in both English and a foreign language.  You may qualify to earn the Seal of Biliteracy for your diploma.  If you are interested, please see Ms. Guinn in the 11/12 office for more information.  You must sign up by March 15.

Choir Auditions for the 2018-2019 school year will take place the next week and the following week during return block.  Please sign up for a slot at www.evhschoirs.org or on the choir room door. Please see Mrs. R with any questions.

The Foreign Language department is having a poster contest. The theme is: Languages lead us on a path to understanding of other cultures. You will be judged based on artistic creativity, neatness, and relation to the theme. Chick-fil-a gift cards will be awards to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Posters should be the standard size of 22”x28” and are due by Friday, March 2 to your foreign language teacher.

Attention Juniors, if you are interested in being Eastern View's delegate for Boy's or Girl's state this summer, please see your counselor to begin the nomination process.

Attention all students, new scholarships have been added to Naviance/Family Connection that can be found in the scholarship list.

Senator Mark Warner is inviting high school students and their parents to the 2018 Service Academy Day. Attendees will be provided a comprehensive overview of the United States service academies and their admission process. In addition, students will be able to meet with representatives from ROTC programs. This event will be held on Saturday, March 24 from 10-1 at the Paramount Theater in Charlottesville. For more information on this opportunity, visit the Student Services section of the EVHS website.  

The Upcycle Club has two upcoming projects for Mondays! On February 26th and March 5th, we will be making a fused plastic pouch. If you are interested in creating colorful, cute, and fun projects from recyclable material, please come to the library to sign up. Space is limited -- so first come, first serve.  

Current AP students:  if you are planning to take the AP exam in May, please register on the EVHS testing website.  All orders and payments are due to the Testing Office by March 16th.
