Today is a "B” Day

Attention Sophomores:  Application forms for the Sophomore Academic Spotlight are available in the office, library and on the EVHS website for the Sophomore Academic Spotlight.  If you were on the Honor Roll last year for any nine week period, you are eligible to apply. Forms are due back in the library by 3:25 PM on Friday, October 23rd or must be submitted by email before 11:59 PM on the 23rd.  No late applications will be accepted. Please note that this is the only time during the school year that Sophomores may apply.

Interested in applying to Mountain Vista Governor's School? Mr. Fincham will be holding an information meeting in room 410 immediately after school on October 24th. Please have a ride available to pick you up by 3:30.

EVHS Athletics and FCCLA are teaming up to host a trick-or-treat event on Friday, October 26th at the softball field 5-6:30 prior to the home game. This event is open to children 12 and under. If your club would like to sponsor a table or donate candy, please see Ms. Butcher ASAP.

There will be an informational meeting for any girl planning to try out for JV or Varsity basketball this year on Monday Oct. 22 at 6 pm in the Floyd T. Binns Gym.  We will go over try-out schedules and procedures. Any questions contact Coach McCombs.

The Society of Women Engineers at the University of Virginia invites high school sophomores, juniors and seniors to apply to their High School Visitation program on Saturday, November 17th, 2018. The program gives young women a comprehensive look at the different engineering fields and UVA’s engineering curriculum through informative speakers, panels, lab tours, and hands-on design activities.This fall session particularly targets high school seniors, but sophomores and juniors can also apply. More information is available on the Students Services section of the EVHS website.

Next week is CCPS Transportation Staff Appreciation Week.  Let’s show how our Cyclone Nation does it - show your appreciation to your bus driver with a word of thanks or take a leadership role and organize a special shout out with all the students on your bus participating!  As always, follow bus rules, be respectful, be safe, and show your Cyclone Spirit!

Seniors, be sure to look at the scholarship opportunities in Naviance. Some scholarships have a deadline of next week.

And for all you fast breakers out there, breakfast pizza is on Monday’s morning menu in the EV Café.
