Culpeper, VA -- Ryleigh Corbin, an Eastern View High School junior, has been selected as the 2025-2026 Central Virginia Regional Thespian Officer for the State Officer Board of the Virginia Thespian Society. This is the first time a student from Eastern View has ever served as a state officer for VTS.
Last school year, Corbin recognized the opportunities that the Virginia Thespian Society offered to students involved in theatre. She wanted to help strengthen and grow our theatre community even more, so she decided to apply -- and she is grateful that she did.
“I hope that being the first officer from this area opens the door for more students who are just as passionate about theatre as I am,” Corbin said.
In this role, she will work to connect troupes in Central Virginia with VTS, assist with event planning, including the Virginia Thespian Festival in January 2026. She expressed that she is excited to help connect schools between what works for their theatre communities, especially Culpeper and VTS. She and her fellow officers will work to create more opportunities for collaboration and growth within our local high school theatre departments.
In addition to her new role in VTS, Corbin also serves as the clerk of EV’s International Thespian Society, a member of the EVents Team, an anchor for EVTV, a representative of the Student Superintendent Advisory Group, a junior member of National Honor Society, a member of the Executive Student Council and the Virginia Student Council Advisory Committee, a performer in the school’s theatre productions, a member of the Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy, and co-founded Eastern View’s Prevention Education program.
