Students Commit to Careers, Continuing Education, and Military Service
Culpeper County Public Schools (CCPS) proudly hosted its 6th Annual Career and Technical Education (CTE) Signing Day on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, celebrating 60 outstanding students as they took bold steps toward their futures. With proud families, future employers, military recruiters, and educators in attendance, students officially signed Letters of Intent marking their commitment to pursue careers, higher education, or military service after graduation.
Much like athletic signing days, CCPS CTE Signing Day honors the dedication, preparation, and achievement of students who are “Enrolled, Enlisted, or Employed.” The event reflects the division’s recognition of the many honorable and valuable pathways to success, highlighting students who are confidently choosing their next steps with purpose.
“This ceremony is more than a celebration—it is a commitment,” said CCPS Career and Technical Education Director, Randi Richards-Lutz, during the event. “Today’s signing symbolizes the investment being made by our students, their families, employers, the military, and our community in building a bright future.”
Each Letter of Intent outlines shared expectations that will guide students through the next stage of their journey. Students commit to graduating in good standing, attending school and work with professionalism, completing certification requirements, and continuing to represent themselves with integrity. In return, employers and military partners pledge to provide mentorship, growth opportunities, and support.
A standout moment of this year’s event was the introduction of CCPS’s first-ever Work-Based Learning Coordinator, Mrs. Ainsley Cockerille. Through her leadership, the division’s workforce initiatives, including the Skills Showcase, Senior Job Fair, and CTE Signing Day have reached new heights. Her efforts to strengthen school and business partnerships have significantly impacted student success across the county.
Behind every student celebrated today is a story of dedication, support, and perseverance. CCPS applauds all 60 students for the hard work that brought them to this milestone and looks forward to seeing their continued success as they enter the workforce, serve our country, or continue their studies.
